ABOUT LIGHT SCIENCE STUDIOS, LLC

Light Science Studios, LLC offers full-service, fine-art portrait and commercial photography services to the greater Portland, Oregon area, and is available for travel worldwide. As a full-service studio, we focus on providing the best experience from start to finish for our customers.

All services begin with a thorough in-person consultation where we discuss your needs and your hopes for the session. We look at the spaces in your home that we will ultimately decorate with your custom art so we can shoot for the desired outcome during the session.

A few days after the session is complete, we will meet back at your home for your personalized ordering session where you will get to experience your images for the first time with a custom slideshow, and true-to-life representations of your art projected on the wall.

Once your artwork is ready, we will deliver it personally to your home, and hang it with care so you don't have to worry about a thing - you simply sit back, relax and enjoy your new artwork!

ABOUT SAM

Hi I'm Sam!

I am a Certified Professional Photographer based in Hillsboro, Oregon and I specialize in Commercial Photo and Video, as well as Fine-Art Portraiture. I have had a passion for photography my whole life, and decided to pursue it full time in 2011 with the opening of my own business, Light Science Studios.

I chose the name "Light Science" because I have always been fascinated with the process of photography and the underlying science of light and how we perceive the world through our eyes. In the spirit of light science, I am always looking for new ways to use and manipulate light in my photographs, in order to create dramatic and fascinating images that captivate.

I love having FUN when photographing, and I'm usually pretty easy to spot with a variety of funny noises that work great for gathering smiles from children and adults alike! (See video below) I'm certainly not afraid of making a fool of myself for the sake of authentic expressions, but I'm also very focused on creating a quality art piece for you and your family.

When I'm not photographing, I am an acitve pilot and love playing among the clouds. I also love spending time on the couch with my three dogs (I call them babooshkas), and enjoying a nice evening with my beautiful wife! (See below)
